Welcome to our website. Our school is a happy and dynamic community that encourages all its members to get involved in the life of the school. We are a Church of England School and have regular contact with the local parish church, the Rector takes Collective Worship at the school and the children attend the church for special services. Seend C.E. School aims to work with all our school community to help children to develop in many different directions. Our aim to make our school a friendly and exciting place to learn. We are proud of our welcoming atmosphere and our children are keen to show visitors around their school. The children at our school are encouraged to be independent learners and think creatively about their work and consider how they can be better learners. To support this aim we are involved in an initiative called Building Learning Power, which gets children to consider their learning styles and challenges them to develop their learning muscles. We value the arts in education and hold an annual Arts Week at our school, all our children are taught to sing on a weekly basis. We have a school choir and many of our children take up the opportunity to learn an instrument. In 2006 our school was awarded the Artsmark Award. The children are able to involve themselves in after school clubs, have regular access to out of school visitors and visit theatres and museums to support the curriculum. Our school is a member of sports partnership and our children are encouraged to take part in a range of sporting activities during the school day and after school by taking part in clubs. Parents are encouraged to become involved in a variety of ways to help them fulfil their responsibilities towards their children’s education. At Seend we hope to equip our children for their future lives by helping them to release their potential through a broad and balanced academic and social curriculum that helps them to develop their skills, ideas and knowledge. |
